Plain-English Legal Summary

This page summarizes how BuildStamp works, in simple terms. It does not replace our Terms of Service.

What BuildStamp Does

BuildStamp preserves user-submitted project records by assigning timestamps and integrity metadata. Records are stored in an append-only format so earlier entries are not silently changed.

What BuildStamp Does NOT Do

BuildStamp does not:

• Analyze or interpret records
• Verify accuracy or completeness
• Provide legal, compliance, or professional advice
• Guarantee legal outcomes or acceptance
• Confirm submission to any external system

Records remain the responsibility of the user.

How Long Records Are Kept

Records are available while your subscription is active (for Consultant Portfolio) or for 30 days from purchase date (for Dispute Packages).

The 30-day period begins immediately upon purchase, not upon first use.

Retention periods represent intended availability, not guaranteed duration.

You are responsible for exporting and maintaining independent copies for long-term needs.

Editing Records

Records cannot be silently edited.

Corrections are added as new entries with new timestamps, preserving the original record.

If You Cancel Your Subscription

To avoid charges for the next billing period, cancel at least 24 hours before your billing date (the same calendar day each month as your initial signup).

Access continues through the end of your current billing period.

After that, records may be permanently deleted.

Please export any records you wish to retain before cancellation.

If BuildStamp Shuts Down

If BuildStamp discontinues service:

• You will receive at least 60 days advance notice
• Export access will remain available during the notice period
• Records may be permanently deleted after shutdown

BuildStamp does not guarantee availability beyond the operational life of the service.

Can I Rely on BuildStamp as My Only System?

No. BuildStamp should not be relied upon as the exclusive custodian or sole basis for legal, compliance, or evidentiary decisions.

Always maintain independent backups.

Liability in Simple Terms

BuildStamp's liability is limited and capped as described in the Terms of Service:

• Standard maximum: $100 (fees paid in most recent billing period)
• Extreme cases: $200 absolute maximum

This service is designed to preserve records, not assume responsibility for their use.

Usage Limits

To ensure service quality for all users:

• Maximum file size: 25MB per file
• Storage: Dispute Package (5GB), Consultant Portfolio (50GB)
• Rate limits: 5 uploads/minute, 20 uploads/hour
• Automated bulk uploads are prohibited

Note: This summary is for convenience only. The full Terms of Service govern your use of BuildStamp.
