Service Sunset Policy
Last Updated: February 2026
Purpose
This policy explains how preserved records are handled if the BuildStamp service is modified, discontinued, or shut down.
Operational Continuity
BuildStamp retains preserved records while:
- The Service remains operational, and
- The user maintains an active subscription or valid access period
Retention periods represent maximum intended availability, not guaranteed duration.
Notice of Discontinuation
If BuildStamp elects to discontinue the Service:
- Users will receive at least 60 days advance notice via email and the Service interface
- Export functionality will remain available throughout the notice period
- Users are responsible for exporting all records prior to shutdown
Data Access & Export
During the notice period:
- Users may export all preserved records
- Exports include timestamps and integrity metadata
- After the shutdown date, records may be permanently deleted
Responsibility for Long-Term Retention
BuildStamp does NOT act as a long-term records custodian.
Users are solely responsible for:
- Maintaining independent copies of records
- Meeting statutory, contractual, or regulatory retention requirements
No Guarantee Beyond Service Life
BuildStamp does not guarantee availability of records beyond the operational life of the Service.
